Heather Wilcox


Heather Wilcox is a LCSW specialized in individual, couples and family psychotherapy  and maintains a private practice in Vienna, VA.


Heather has over 16 years experience as a clinician, and is a graduate of University of Maryland School of Social Work,  specializing in Clinical Services.  She is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are couples/marital counseling, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, coping with life transitions.


In addition, Heather  has presented at the Massachusetts statewide social work conference in 2000  on the topic of using a Strengths Perspective in clinical services.  She has also provided information and support to local mothers groups through presentations and information sessions.


Heather is a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. She provides support, insight and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She incorporates a blend of conventional and alternatives approaches, and uses a variety of styles and techniques according to client need.  With sensitivity and compassion, she works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals.
